Another reason to be angry at liberals

Okay, the congress voted today. Yeah sure, you say? So what, you say?

Well it has to with us. Bloggers.

They voted, and failed to pass, an act that would have excempted bloggers from following hundreds of of pages of rules by the FCC.

So...how well are you versed in FCC regs? I thought so; better get reading.

2005-10-25

Double Standard? I don't see....*CRACK*

Well.

First, watch this. It's a WMV off of amazon.com.

Now than, presuming that you are too lazy to have seen it. I'll have a quick description for you:

Al Franken (infamious liberal radio-host) is pitching his book in a commmerical. He has three guys (all white btw) and he greets each one in turn and they talk briefly. the third guy that he greets is not a lib, but a right-winger. After a quick exchange in which this is revealed, Franken kicks him in the groin, and smashes a (painfully obivious) breakable stool over his head. Than one of the other guys breaks a bottle over his head. And everyone is laughing. Except me.

Now I'm all for humor, but imagine if Sean Hannity, or (god forbid) Michael Savage were to do something like that. The sheer amount of outrage coming from all the libs would make you forget that we were ever in a war in Iraq! Why is it, again and again, that we have to suffer these indignities while those prissy little *BLANK*s can get away with whatever they want?

Ah, SIA.

2005-10-12

Absolutely Not!

Okay...I was skimming Slashdot.org yesterday and I came across an article about some U.N./EU thing on the internet and stuff. I didn't get a chance to read it, but I figured that they were just whining again.

I was a bit off.

Apparently, they want the U.N. to take over the internet. As in, they would administer the root (primary) DNS servers. All I have to say about that is this:

TO HELL WITH THAT!!

Now, please note that I am referring to the actual place, which is a pit (metaphorically) of eternal suffering and stuff.

This jsut bring up a point I would like to make: The United States has been responsible for a number of things that have greatly benefited the world. I'll list three:

1. Panama Canal
2. GPS
3. The Internet

All three of these were invented by the US. All three greatly benefit the world. Does the world appreciate us for it? What do you think?

We handed over the Canal for some reason that I can't remember, but in all the history books in the other countries (France, Germany, so forth) do you think that they make a note that the US was so nice that we let anyone use it for virtually nothing? Sure there was as usage fee, but that for maintainance. Do you realize how much money these countries saved using our Canal?

And the GPS system. Virtually all the world's airplanes depend on it, but we made it. Do we get apprieciated for it?

And, of course, the internet. So the U.N. wants that too. Well, screw them. The U.N. doesn't need it. We made it, we own it. And if the rest of the world doesn't like it, they can do without until they make their own.

Something about being Tagged....

Okay, apparently I was tagged by Rabenstrange of The Rabenstranger Blog.

So here it is: Enough randomness.

Now than...on to business:

I tag TBQelite of TBQelite, Kate of Katespeak, Gerhalt of Gerhalt.com, EJB of Myfiendishlyfunnyblog, and Emily of Emilylick

(Note: Goto Rabenstranger for the rules.)

Also, I've been very busy with work lately and it isn't likely to to let up anytime soon, but hopefully I'll be able to squeeze out the remaining parts of my stories and post my first article in Depths of Twilight shortly. Hopefully.

Open Source

Yo.

I have a question for you: If you were offered something that would make your live much easier for a nominial fee, and a similar product that did everything the former one did , but for free, which one would you pick.

Here's a second question: Regardless of what you picked in the first question, should you have a choice?

Why am I asking this? Because some people would say no. Link to Slashdot Article.

And while I'm at it, I'd like to say this: If you make something that is your own, and you wish to sell it, go right ahead. However, if someone is giving something similar away, so what? If you are taking someone's money for a product, that product should be superior to the free one, simply because it is costing your customer something.

2005.03.21

Wow. It's been a while.

No, I'm not dead, I just feel that way. Currently, I am rendering 900 frames in Maya after I had finished my Video Test and Assignment on the accursed Mac...and my photoshop test and project...

Yeah. I've been at school for more than twelve hours and I ain't leaving yet. I have to leave by midnight though.

In any case, it's on frame 654 right now, so I should have enough time to compile it in Priemere, sync up the audio, render that out and save it as a quicktime movie and than email that to my instructor. Yeah, God willing.

Anyways, Advent: The chapter is a page away from being done. I assure you that it will be up by thursday. After that, I hope to have the next one up before Easter, because I start school again after that.

Anyways, its on 680 right now. I leave for the moment.

2005-03-01

Ein and Zweizig

Yesterday, but after the 28th of February, I turned 21. Ya me. So...now what?
Was there suppose to be something magical and mysterious about turning 21? If there was, I missed it. No one bothered to inform me.

Anyways, I am close (genuinely close) to finishing chapter 15 of Advent. It's just that I just finished two major projects and am working on finishing a third by wednesday. However, I do have thursday off, and I'll be at a LAN party this weekend in celebration of my 21st. So...it'll be done by then. Unless something very bad happens...like North Korea or something...

Anyways...

Oh: Am I the only one that is slightly disturbed that Bill Gates will soon be Sir William Gates, Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire?

2005-02-22

The Long Struggle

Okay, so...yeah...
Alright, I admit that I didn't spend all of my day off from school working on Advent, even though I am very behind in my promises...I was playing Risk, two games: Gametime for one was more than 12 hours and the other (which I won in a joint effort) was more than 3.

Yeah...So I did write about a page and structured the rest of the chapter (one of the aspects was being difficult) so it should be progressing faster...but I have a lot of homework (Photoshop primarily) so finding time is hard.

Anyways, that's all for today.

2005-02-17

Why Does it Take so much Energy to Live?

Well...I'm posting...

Currently, my life is under a real crunch for time, with everyone and everything needing my constant, undivided attention. Man, life sucks.

What with everything, I haven't really had time to sit down to do much, and even when I have, my mind is shot and bleeding to death...

But I digress: Yes, I am continuing to write the next chapter for Advent (I'm at five pages or so, but I have had to make a few revisions...) There, be happy.

Also, I have come to the decision that the next computer I build (currently codenamed Copperhead) will not have Windows. Instead, it will be operated by little gnomes...well, Linux; specifically Linspire. It'll cost about a hundred dollars, but it's worth it.

So anyways, that it.

2005-02-12

Opera calls it Right

Yo.
Apparently, last week Bill Gates made a remark or something, saying that Microsoft has superior interoperability on the web...
Excuse me me while I cough violently...*COUGH, COUGH, COUGH!*
Microsoft sucks at that! IE is so horribly forgiving it's not even funny. Some of you might think that forgivness is a good thing...it's not. Not when that forgivness means ambiguity among the various browsers, and that's only among those that do forgive! There are standards laid out by the W3C for the sole purpose of telling everyone how they have to write their code! Good thing Microsoft isn't able to buy them out...at least, I hope not...

BTW here is the article by the Opera guy.

And yes, I am working on Advent...it's just being longer than I thought it would be in sheer words. So...just be patient some more, okay? :)

PROOF!!!

We have proof at last!!!

Go here

This study is the proof that I have been waiting for! I, and others, have long known that when you are put to a task in an enviroment that gives you a set time in an isolated situation, your abilities are hindered!!

I rest my case.

Also...Advent is being worked on...so...yeah...

The Horrors of Microsoft Grammer

Yo.
This post is in response to an email I got from a reader of Advent in regards to some of my faulty grammer.
Note, and I state this clearly: I have nothing against this person in anyway. I bear this individual no grudge of any kind. I am merely posting to explain why things are the way they are.

Microsoft Word is EVIL.

That's why. Why do I use it? Beccause it is both convenient and I have MOSTLY tamed it. However, it nearly always HATES the word 'then'. Whenever I have attempted to use that word, it will always mark it as error and I have never seen it mark 'than' as error. Yes, I know that there are places where my grammer is flawed in the story, but I just don't have the patience to check every instance in which Word is slapping me for what it considers bad word usage.

I would like to have grammerically correct, error-free chapters to give you all, but I really don't have the time to go through and check everything before the masses start to get angry. I am trying to give my chapters to my beta-reader, and lately I have been more successful, but...well all I can ask is that you forgive a little error here and there. And remember that most of the time, these are people who are speaking, and people don't always speak properly either. :)

Anyways, I've got homework to do and a chapter to work on. If you (you know who you are) read this, response or shoot me another email, okay? And remember, I bear you grudge. I was just explaining myself.

2005-02-03

Speak of the Devil...

Well, no sooner than did I say if I got swamped by homework, than I did. I have a video due on monday, a quiz today, plus I have to work on my Maya project. And the School and all of it's media stuff is closed tomorrow.

Anyways, I just want to say a few things:

-Congrats to the Iraqis on their first election
-Congrats to Dubba Bush for a great speech
-Kudos to Gerhalt's mommy for letting us LAN at their house
-Sharp stick in the eye to a person WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS!
-And Advents readers...I will have the chapter done by the end of next weekend if not before. I think...

Returned from the Void that is Homework

Yo.
Yes, I've been gone; neglicting to post for a few days. Oh well. I had to make an IK Walk Cycle in Maya, and do a Photoshop assignment that were both due yesterday.
So now I'm back...
Anyways, I've started working Advent Chapter 15 (Tentatively named Onslaught) and plan (note the word plan) on having it done during the weekend, or just after. Note that I still have to get my next homework assignments.
Also, Traxblade (a.k.a. Rikun) has told me that the Radio Theater of Chapter 7 is nearing completion. He hopes to have everything finalized by the end of the month.
The website is here
Anyways...later.

When the MPAA Writes a Program...

Okay, I was browsing the web today, and happened across an article on Slashdot that was talking about a new program that the MPAA and the RIAA put out.
This program is to "'helps consumers check whether their computers have peer-to-peer software and potentially infringing copies of motion pictures and other copyrighted material..."
Okay, from the thread that I was reading from (here it seems that the program is a big brute that wants to kill every single media file on your computer. Nice, isn't it...
Note that this includes all Windows-packaged MP3s, WAVs, and AVIs; plus any files that you have purchused legally or have made on your own.
Also, it should be noted that this is targeted at parents, who may or may not be the most competent computer engineers around your house. If your parents are savvy (or you are a savvy parent) than that's one thing. However, I know that my mom would have no clue as to what it was really doing. So, it could happen that when you get home from school one day...windows will complain very loudly.
Also, it should be noted that the software will also attack any P2P (Peer to Peer) software that you may have. This has led to the software wanting to kill off peoples printers...
So. What will we do now? And what will they try next?

2005-01-26

I have Returned!

Yo.
Okay, I'm back after a few days of digital exile, and I come bearing gifts!
Advent Chapter 14, Reevaluations has been posted.
*Monty Python moan*Yeeaaaahh*Monty Python moan*

Anyways, I'm taking a few days off to work on homework, and than I shall begin the next chapter, Marathon of the Titans.

So, until than...

2005-01-20

So what's the Question?

Yesterday, as I made my way across campus, I happened upon a group of students that were waving signs around. Sure, that's all well and good; I couldn't really care less...well, I could. I couldn't have bothered to post it at all...

But that's not the point; The point is this: The signs read "War is not the Answer!"
So...What's the question? Obviously there has to be a question if there is an answer, and War apparently is not the correct answer. Hmmmmmm....

I can easily extrapolate what they mean, but I want to have some fun...

The Questions that war is not the answer to:
-What color is the Sky?
-Why are trees green?
-Why does it rain so much in Western Washington?

The answer to all of these is not war...
Now then, if I choose to correctly extrapolate the question, or I bother to ask them, how would that sound?
-How do you best deal with with Nations that harbor Terrorists?
No no no...That won't work...That's to politically incorrect to get the answer that they are looking for...
-How should the United States have dealt with Nations that harbor Terrorists?
Nope. That won't work.
How about this:
-How we think we should have dealt with Nations that harbor Terrorists?
I suppose. But that's an opinion based answer, so it dones't really work. Oh well, I give up.

Advent: I'm working on it. Be patient. Or else.... >;)

2005-01-18

The Day After

Well...I have an interesting MLK Day off.
LOTR EE Marathon at TBQelite's house. Everything, including the easter eggs: 13:??. From around 10:10-23:15.

And now I'm back at school. Dang. Live sucks. Oh well, it's better than the alternative.

As for Advent: I know, I know...But I just looked at some of the dialogue and decided that I had to redo some of it. It just didn't work with where I want the story go. So...I'll be working on it shortly (unless my online class starts working again...)

And check out http://www.voiceacting.co.uk/board/viewtopic.php?t=5615 for more information about the audio version of the Courage of the Heart.

2005-01-13

More on Advent

Morning everybody.

Rikun (Rick) sent me the script the other day, and I have given my approval. The site that it will be posted on is http://www.voiceacting.co.uk/board/. When you actually get it up, would you please post a more accurate URL, Rikun? Thanks.
Also, check the site out; it is quite interesting. I knew that such a site probably existed, but this is the first one that I ahve seen.

In other Advent news, I have about four and half pages down and will work diligently to complete it as quickly as possible. Also, TBQelite has said that he can resume his pre-reading duties. That and and I am considering another revision to correctly match the format. That and flush some more of the mistakes that I've found while going back and reading it...

Anyways, if you need to know something and you don't read Advent...Prince Harry is a moron: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4170083.stm

Nuff said.

2005-01-11

An Interesting Consequence

Well, for those of you that read the comments, apparently my fanfic is liked quite a lot by some people. As in one of my readers wants to make a radio drama thing out of "that one scene" from Chapter 07: "Courage of the Heart". If you've read it, you know what I mean.

I have agreed to this, but we need ideas for a good song to go in the background. You have permission to post (not spam) any legitiment ideas. Like I could stop you anyways.

As for the next chapter, it is coming along. I hope to have it out by the end of the week, seeing as I finished a project on monday and I have to finish one up for a noon class tomorrow.

Until then.

2005-01-06

It's Icing!

Well, it ain't snowing yet, but that doesn't mean that it can't ice over. And the worst thing about it is that most people can't drive. That just makes driving a pain for the rest of us. Oh well.

Enough randomness.

Advent: Okay, the update is that I have pretty much figured out how the next few chapters will go and will commence writing soon (later today or tomorrow) so look for the chapter mid next week.

2005-01-04

Later.

Return to Tortu...Normalcy

The Day, January 3, 2005. The place, BCC Media Lab.

Here I am, back in my comfort T1 allocated cage. Ah....life is....normal.
This is the time if year where everything go back to the beginning. Ah well, who cares?

As for Advent, for everyone from Fanfiction.net, I have yet to start on 14, but I am storming ideas. I will probably start wednesday or thursday, after I get a feel for my new classes.

Oh well, till next time.

2005-01-01

2005

Well...it's been awhile.

As a note, life right after I posted last really, really sucked. Oh well. I've got a pendrive and I'm starting a new quarter at college.

Ah well. Back to work.

Oh yeah, as for 2005....don't get killed. :)
